Welcome to “El Pael” in Canazei

Everything here has a history, starting with our name, “El Pael“, from the Ladin “il paiolo”, chosen as a nod to the typical, old paiolo, a pot for polenta, one of the few objects that our maternal grandfather managed to bring home with him when he returned from Russia after the Second World War.

And you will find that pot right here, in our restaurant, a reminder to us, and to everyone, of a story about love: love for family, for hospitality and for shared moments of culinary delight at the table.

We, Roberto and Manuela, will be your guides in this love story; we who, since 1994, have welcomed our guests with attention, courtesy and hospitality, with the desire to offer you an unforgettable taste experience.

A taste for the finer things

Here you will find products of impeccable quality: the inimitable territory that surrounds us influences all our culinary offerings, where traditional dishes are expertly revisited, and alternate with carefully selected meats, excellently sourced.


Our aim was to achieve an atmosphere that reflects the added value we want to attach to our concept of catering. After the recent renovations, El Pael has been completely transformed, while maintaining the same attention to detail: from the service, to the wide selection of wines, and the high-quality ingredients.


We can seat 70 diners indoors; in summer we can also offer outdoor seating for 12 on our sunny terrace, overlooking the beautiful mountains of Val di Fassa.
